The patterns, scattered with flowers and plants, are created by pressing each one into the mold with a spatula. The patterns have a three-dimensional effect and a pleasant texture. Many people imagine iron kettles to be sturdy, black and rugged, but Morihisa's iron kettles are finished with brown lacquer mixed with red iron to bring out the fine patterns and sandy surface more beautifully.
